Apple is rolling out new updates, big and small, on Tuesday for the Apple Creator Studio suite of apps. The biggest update is for Final Cut Camera, Apple’s free pro videography app designed to integrate with Final Cut Pro.
The app has received an entirely new design that is more customizable and provides easier access to the many settings available within the app. The app also now offers RGB parade, a histogram view, false color, and clipping indicators. This gives professional videographers the ability to better understand how much light and color are being captured by the sensor.
On iPhone 18 Pro, the app supports the new variable aperture with aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual modes. It will also allow users to apply Cinematic effects to regular video that can later be adjusted on Final Cut Pro.
To accompany this update, Final Cut Pro and Motion have received updates to support the ability to adjust the Cinematic effects in editing. Compressor also now lets users convert videos with these Cinematic mode effects back into the previous format.
The other apps in the suite received other notable updates.
Freeform will now adapt boards to Dark Mode and allow users to organize boards into folders. Users with devices that support Apple Intelligence can summarize handwritten notes. Users can also create Shortcuts that automate adding content to boards. The visionOS version of Freeform will also allow users to pull items off boards and view them with a group.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers–formerly known as iWork–now allow users to request access to shared presentations. Pages received a new mode called Screen View, which company officials say is optimized for reading and writing. Keynote will intelligently generate images when using the slide generator. Numbers also received new trigonometry and statistics functions. All of these apps also received new themes and templates.
Pixelmator Pro brings Select and Mask to the iPad version for the first time, allowing users to isolate objects in an image. Users can also access new templates designed for sports and podcasts.
The updates are rolling out for free in the App Store now. Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform are available for free, with select features available only for subscribers.
The full Apple Creator Studio subscription is available at $12.99 per month or $129 per year. Students can subscribe for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
