According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple to introduce a new iPhone model with a triple-lens rear camera as well as improved zooms in 2019, meanwhile, this year’s models will be continuing to use dual-lens rear camera system,
The report cites Yuanda Investment claims in which the camera will have a 6P lens design with 5x zoom, but it doesn’t specify whether that pertains to optical, digital, or hybrid zoom. EDN believes that Hon Hai and Largan Precision will be supply the triple camera lens.
Apple will follows Huawei’s step, as the Chinese smartphone maker’s P20 Pro smartphone is equipped with three-lens rear camera system, including a primary 40-megapixel f/1.8 lens, a 20-megapixel f/1.6 monochrome lens, and an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It provide a lot of advantages, such as greatly improved low-light performance and it produces sharper, cleaner images at a lower resolution.
