A Quick Summary of What Happened at the Apple Event Today

Today was the day of Apple’s iPhone event, which is typically the time where the company unveils the new iPhone, along with other products and new operating system release dates. 

Here is what was specifically announced and unveiled today at Apple’s September event:

Products:

  • iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus: This new version of the iPhone comes with a new A11 Bionic Chip, 12MP camera, all-glass design, and is now enabled for wireless charging.
    • Available in 64GB and 256GB memory capacities
    • Pre-orders date: September 19th, 2017
    • Release date: September 22nd, 2017
  • iPhone X: The first iPhone with an all-screen display, is called “iPhone 10,” has Face ID, has a 5.8-inch OLED screen, 12MP camera, among a plethora of other features.
    • Available in 64GB and 256GB memory capacities
    • Is the first iPhone to go over $1K in price
    • Pre-orders date: October 27th, 2017
    • Release date: November 3rd, 2017
  • Apple TV 4K: It’s the first Apple TV to have 4K capabilities and is getting a new Siri Remote. Users will also now be able to control their smart home via Siri on the Apple TV. The new Apple TV 4K also has A10X Fusion Chip. Apple is also working on a program so that movies that you already own can be converted over to 4K HDR free of charge.
    • Available in 32GB and 64GB
    • Pre-order date: September 15th, 2017
    • Release date: September 22nd, 2017
  • Apple Watch Series 3: This will be the first Apple Watch that does not have to be always near your iPhone to work. The Apple Watch Series 3 will allow for cellular connectivity. Siri is faster on this model and can speak through the Apple Watch instead of the user having to look down at the answer.
    • Pre-order date: September 15th, 2017
    • Release date: September 22nd, 2017
