Opinion: 6 months later with my new MacBook Pro

This past May, as a birthday and college graduation gift to myself, I bought a MacBook Pro. I was coming from a 2012 MacBook Pro that I had purchased back in 2014 after my high school graduation. It was so old that it still had a disc drive and an HDD.

By the end of it, the battery was not completely dead but certainly was not good. I had also pretty much used up that 4GB of RAM that was in it. Sure, it may have worked in 2012, but in 2019, it was not up to par.

My new MacBook Pro is a 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro with a 256GB SSD and does not have the TouchBar. In fact, less than a month after I bought it, Apple discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro without the TouchBar, so I was grateful to get this when I did.

It has now been over six months since I purchased it and I have to say that it has been my best Apple product purchase of the year, and arguably, my best Apple product purchase ever (you can see my review of it here).

The amount of work I am able to get done on it is much better and more efficient than my old MacBook Pro.

What has made it so much better is the Retina Display and the fact that the increase in RAM (8GB of RAM) has made it so that I can multitask and get more stuff done.

Another feature that I adore about this laptop is how portable it is. It is the slimmest laptop I have ever owned and while I went to other job interviews this fall, it was good to know that it would fit seamlessly in my laptop bag.

Six months later, this thing still works like it is brand new out of the box. It is by far the best laptop I have ever owned and I cannot wait to see what articles I get published on it, as well as what adventures I’ll have next with it.
