Do-Not Disturb While Sleeping

This new feature was one of the last to be announced and show cased. This feature hides your notifications until the morning. This is so that you use your iPhone less at night as this can help disturb sleep. This feature also helps so that if you wake up in the middle of the night, you are not tempted to check go through notifications if you check the time. This is quite useful for those people who are easily tempted to use their phone and respond to missed notifications. This feature hopes to improve sleeping habits too.

Grouped Notifications

Finally! Notifications are getting instant tuning. Apple implements Grouped Notifications with iOS 12. These notifications will be grouped via the use of a stack. There are also new notification settings for notifications on the lock screen.

New Weekly Activity Summary

There is a new feature called ‘Weekly Activity’. Every week, you will be able to see how you use your phone, when, how often, how long, etc. There are also App usage limit introduced to help you use your iPhone less:

This data will then sync across all your Apple devices in order to prevent you from using a different iOS device once you have reached the limit on one of yours. Parents will also be able to access this data and set ‘Allowances’ for using apps on their devices. This will help improve any addictions children might have to using their iPhones or iPads.

These features are quite useful. I can say for a fact Grouped Notifications was the most wanted.
