How to Stream the Doctor Who Christmas Marathon on BBC America

BBC America will be having a Christmas Eve and Day marathon of all of the Doctor Who Christmas specials from the New Who era of the series. These date all the way back to 2005 when the series had its first Christmas special that introduced David Tennant as the 10th Doctor.

The first one will be starting at 12 PM ET on BBC America and will be “The Christmas Invasion.” All of the Christmas specials shown will feature the 10th Doctor, 11th Doctor and 12th Doctor. The 9th and 13th Doctors do not have their own Christmas specials, although the 13th Doctor does appear in the 2017 Christmas special “Twice Upon a Time,” which mostly features the 12th Doctor and 1st Doctor.

How to Stream

You’re going to need live TV streaming services for this one. The good news about that is that most of the live TV streaming services do provide the channel on a basic package for pretty cheap. The cheapest route to go will be Philo, which starts at $16 a month and does have a one-week free trial of the service, as well as an unlimited cloud DVR too.

  • Sling TV: 7-day free trial
    • Available on both Sling Orange and Sling Blue plans
  • PlayStation Vue: 5-day free trial
    • Access plan (44.99 per month)
  • DirecTV Now: 7-day free trial
    • Live a Little plan ($40 a month)
  • YouTube TV: 7-day free trial (only available in certain areas)
  • Fubo TV: 7-day free trial
  • Philo: 7-day free trial

This marathon will be on BBC America all throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and also going into a little bit of the early morning hours of the day after Christmas.

For those looking to go outside of a TV network, Amazon’s Prime Video does currently have all of the Doctor Who Christmas specials available on its service. They can additionally be purchased on iTunes too.

All of the live TV streaming services and other streaming services (Prime Video) do have apps available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV, and can also be streamed either live or on-demand on the Mac.
