According to a Apple document obtained by Appleosophy, The Powerbeats Pro packaging is Beat’s greenest packaging initiative ever, according to the document. The Powerbeats Pro packaging comes entirely from recycled sources or responsibly managed forests. The packaging also includes 82% less plastic than Powerbeats 3 Wireless.

“The wood fiber in Powerbeats Pro packaging comes entirely from recycled sources or responsibly managed forests—a first for any Beats product.
And the tray that holds the earphone case is PaperFoam, a biodegradable material made from potatoes and tapioca.”

The Powerbeats Pro uses 37 percent less packaging volume than Powerbeats 3 Wireless earphones. Beats has also significantly reduced the amount of box materials needed for Powerbeats Pro.

“To maintain the premium look and feel of the brand, Beats needed a material that conveyed quality without sacrificing the environment. That’s why Powerbeats Pro packaging uses Eska black, a paperboard made from at least 70 percent recycled material. The box retains Beats’ signature glossy, deep black color and now doesn’t include laminates or plastics.”

Beats’s Powerbeats Pro earphones will be available in black on May 10th but it looks like most customers that ordered them right away will get them May 13th – May 14th. Customers that order them right now shows they will arrive Mid-June.
