Would you look at that! More news on the long-rumored Apple Car is still on the way. According to Bloomberg, Apple has paused talks between them and Hyundai and affiliate Kia.
Back in January, CNBC reported that South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is in talks with Apple regarding Apple Car, which the company then confirmed.
“We understand that Apple is in discussion with a variety of global automakers, including Hyundai Motor. As the discussion is at its early stage, nothing has been decided.”
But with all that being said, Nikkei reported today that Apple is considering establishing agreements with more than six Japanese auto manufacturers. Mercedes is also working with Apple on developing a Smart Car project.
This week CNBC also reported that Apple is close to finalizing an agreement with Kia, but at the same time, Cupertino is very upset regarding Hyundai’s confirmation of talks to the public.
Apple’s long-rumored Apple Car is reportedly slated for a 2025-2028 launch. Cupertino hasn’t confirmed anything to its worst-kept secret.
