With vaccinations available to more people, air travel slowly resumes. With that in mind, Apple Maps has implemented COVID-19 airline guidance for several airports. The airport place cards will show this information that details the following guidelines. This includes: face coverings, health tests, and quarantine guidelines. Additionally, the cards may provide links to each airport’s travel guidance page for further details.
Apple collaborated with Airports Council International to provide this information to iPhone/iPad/Mac users. This new feature is rolling out starting today to at least 300 airports worldwide. So make sure to keep an eye out for guidelines for your local airport.
Having this information displayed in Apple Maps will help to make this crucial data much more broadly accessible to passengers. This will help passengers to plan their journeys and be reassured that their health and safety remains a priority for the industry as we all work towards a sustained return to operations and global connectivity. Collaboration remains key to a globally coordinated recovery and we are grateful to our members for the partnership we have forged to deliver this important tool that will contribute to the rebuilding of passenger confidence in air travel.
