Apple is set to release iOS 15 tomorrow following three months of beta testing. Apple has now updated the ‘iOS 15 Preview’ page indicating that Find My Support for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max will be coming later this fall.

The feature is designed for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. If the device is lost and comes close to a device compatible with the Find My Network, it will relay an approximate location securely and privately to the user.

This means that the feature will not be available for the initial release of iOS 15, set to be released tomorrow to the following devices:

  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone Xs
  • iPhone Xs Max
  • iPhone Xr
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE (1st generation)
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation)
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

There is no specific reason listed for the delay, though many features have also been delayed and will not be available for the initial release, including SharePlay, Legacy Contacts, and State ID/Drivers License in the wallet app.
