WhatsApp is developing pausing during video recording

WhatsApp is building up many upcoming features for the free chatting app, and one of them will be very useful.

In a new beta, the Facebook-owned company is developing the ability to pause during video recording, according to WABetaInfo. The website is reporting that WhatsApp is testing the feature first on iOS with Android support on the way.

Last week on October 4, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram all had a major outage that resulted in billions of losses. The outage lasted 6-7 hours but a week later WhatsApp is at its feet again and restarted working on new features.

The feature:

When you tap on the microphone button, you won’t be forced to start a new message when you want to pause, thanks to a new pause button in the middle. Here is a video from the outlet showing a demo on iOS:

By clicking on the pause button, the voice note will be stopped temporarily until the user decides to continue, listen or send it as a message. This is very useful when users are trying to make the voice message seamless.

The feature is “under development” in the betas and will be released “in a future update” for both iOS and Android.

WhatsApp is bringing multiple features to the chatting platform like WhatsApp Pay, Face ID login, and a view-once mode, with iPad support possibly coming too.
