It looks like iPad support for WhatsApp is coming very soon, according to a new report from WABetaInfo, the app is about to support iPad devices after a longtime request from many users.

“NEWS: WhatsApp is finally working on multi-device 2.0, and you can use iPad as new linked device Android tablets are also planned to support multi-device on WhatsApp for Android!”

What WABetaInfo also mentions is multi-device 2.0, which is an upcoming feature that WhatsApp has been working on implementing in an upcoming update.

A WhatsApp spokesperson has previously confirmed that the feature is being worked on in WhatsApp and is still a work-in-progress:

“Multi-device means that users will have the same functionality that is available on the current public versions of WhatsApp Web, Desktop, and Portal, without the need to have your phone connected. Our multi-device capability immediately makes the experience better for people who use Desktop/Web and Portal. And it also will make it possible to add support for more kinds of devices over time.”

In a previous interview between WABetainfo and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the latter teased the fact that WhatsApp on iPad could be a reality.

WhatsApp is bringing multiple features to the social chatting platform, like WhatsApp Pay, Face ID login, and a view-once mode.
