We’re less than two days away from Apple’s “Unleashed” event where we can expect Apple to release the biggest update to the higher-end MacBook Pros. While we can expect this event to mainly focus on the Mac lineup, a source has reported that the third-generation AirPods will likely be ready for next week’s announcements.
These AirPods are expected to feature a design that’s similar to the AirPods Pro sans Active Noise Cancellation and customizable silicone tips. The last update to the regular AirPods occured on March 2019, which added “Hey Siri” and “Announce Notifications” support. Other features we can still hope for are improved “Find My” integration similar to that on AirPods Pro/Max.
If Apple doesn’t announce those AirPods next week, we can still expect Apple to announce them in either November or December similar to what Apple has done with other AirPods announcements. An update to the AirPods Pro is not expected until next year.Â
