Apple is reportedly launching two new iPhone SEs in the future, one in 2022 and another two years later in 2024 ”“ The first device will be a minor refresh and the second one will be a major refresh to the budget iPhone lineup.
According to analyst Ross Young, Apple is scheduled to launch an “iPhone SE Plus” in 2022. Despite the “plus” naming, this rumored device is expected to feature the same 4.7″ LCD display like the current iPhone SE.
We now hear the next LCD iPhone will be introduced in 2022 and called the SE Plus with the same 4.7" LCD as the 8 along with 5G. We hear the iPhone SE3 with a 5.7" – 6.1" LCD is now pushed to 2024. https://t.co/9gxiAAk8Yi

What Ross notes is that the iPhone SE Plus will feature 5G with Sub-6 GHz alongside newer specs and components. This basically means that the new device will have a pretty minor upgrade. Ross also notes that a newer iPhone SE 3 will be the big kid in the SE lineup.
The rumor says that iPhone SE 3 will feature a 5.7 to 6.1-inch screen alongside a hole-punch display rather than a notch. This matches another rumor earlier stating that the iPhone SE will upgrade to the iPhone XR design, and replace the notch with a hole-punch display.
Rumors regarding the next iPhone SE have been muddled, some like Macotakara and Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the device’s design will be retained, while Chinese outlet MyDrivers noted that the design will be refreshed.
With all that, most reporters and analysts are expecting the next iPhone SE to feature 5G and upgraded specs, but are separated by the design.
The original iPhone SE was launched back in March 2016 as the most budget iPhone in the lineup, featuring the design of the iPhone 5s with improved specs.
Jumping forward to April 2020, Apple refreshed the design and gave the second-generation device the iPhone 8 design with specs like the A13 Bionic chip, a single camera setup with 4K 60fps video shooting, and a starting price of $399.
