JCPenney Apple Pay scaled

Adding to the chaos that comes with the week of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, JCPenney has quietly once again removed Apple Pay support on its app and website.

The company did briefly bring back support for Apple Pay through its app and website late last month, but it has vanished once more.

What this means for shoppers is that not only can they not use Apple Pay as a payment method, but Apple Card users cannot get 2% in Daily Cash and it customers as a whole one less secure way of paying for their items online through JCPenney.

JCPenney does still accept Apple Pay in its stores for those who want or plan to go to their stores to purchase items.

Clearly this is not the first time JCPenney has done this and it could easily be added back to its app and website tomorrow, later this week or into next week, given its history with Apple Pay.

For now, customers can manually type in their credit/debit card info into JCPenney’s online checkout or use PayPal as a third-party payment method.

What are your thoughts on JCPenney removing Apple Pay support from its app and website again, given the circumstance of the holidays and week ahead? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
