Apple is readying to hold a March event with announcements and debuts of the iPhone SE 3 and the iPad Air 5 according to a new report from Bloomberg.

The report cites that the Cupertino-based giant is aiming to hold an event this March where the iPhone SE 3 and the 2022 iPad Air are expected to be the focus. The company is “targeting a date on or near March 8”:

“Apple Inc. is targeting a date on or near March 8 to unveil a new low-cost iPhone and an updated iPad, according to people with knowledge of the matter, kicking off a potentially record-setting year for product launches.

The announcement will mark Apple’s first major event since a new MacBook Pro debuted in October. Like the company’s other recent launches, it’s expected to be an online presentation rather than in-person, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are private.”

The report also states that the company’s plans might receive a schedule change “in the face of production delays or other changes”. Apple will then launch the low-end iPhone SE 3 that is expected to house an A15 Bionic chip, the same iPhone 8 design, and most notably 5G.

Meanwhile, the iPad Air 5 is set to sport the same specs in addition to Center Stage, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera, and Quad-LED True Tone.

Earlier this month, both products were reportedly imported to India for internal testing purposes. Teasing that announcements and debuts are on the way. The iPhone will reportedly cost $300 while the iPad Air could be between $500 to $700.

Software-wise, Bloomberg‘s report also cites that “the company is planning to release iOS 15.4 in the first half of March.” The software is currently in beta and adds numerous features to devices including the ability to use Face ID while wearing a mask, Universal Control on iPadOS, new widgets for Apple Card, new emojis, SharePlay improvements, and more.

Finally, an Apple Silicon-powered Mac is expected to be unveiled at the event although no additional details were found other than the product will launch next month.

Last month, reporter Mark Gurman stated that Apple is readying to unveil its “widest array of products” including:

  • Four new iPhones
  • A low-end MacBook Pro
  • An updated iMac
  • The new Mac Pro
  • A revamped MacBook Air
  • An AirPods Pro upgrade
  • Three Apple Watches
  • A low-end iPad
  • New iPad Pros
