With today being the first day of classes for many students across the U.S., some of them and many others might need to know that at select colleges and universities, you can put your student ID card in the Wallet app.

This makes it so a student, in an ideal situation, if necessary, can have their credit and debit card there, as well as their Apple Cash card. Depending on the provider, users can have their car insurance and health insurance cards in the Wallet app too.

By having the student ID card on a student’s iPhone or Apple Watch, it can enable them to get into their dorm or campus apartment, cafeteria, library, and other classrooms and buildings on campus.

It makes it easier and more convenient for the student since it makes it so they don’t have to pull out their wallet each time they need the card out. Instead, two taps of a button on either the iPhone or Apple Watch and the student is into wherever they need to be.
