This week, Apple released a beta to its Apple Store retail workers that is giving them the early ability to test out the use and functionality of Apple Pay Later, according to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg.

Apple currently has over 80,000 employees at its retail stores and the feature has already been tested with corporate employees.

Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke with CNBC last week and said that the feature would be launched “soon,” but did not indicate a specific date. Gurman has previously stated that the feature could arrive once iOS 16.4 is released.

The way how Apple Pay Later works is a user makes a purchase online or in a store that accepts Apple Pay, uses Apple Pay as the payment method, and then with Apple Pay Later, would have the ability to make interest-free payments on the purchase over the following six weeks.
