New Color for iPhone 14 Underway

Avatar for Nick Soong

Every spring, Apple has introduced an additional color option for its iPhone lineup. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini offered Purple, and the iPhone 13 and 13 mini offered Green. Additionally, the iPhone 13 Pro offered Alpine Green. So what’s next for the current iPhone 14? Several reports have indicated that Apple will bring a yellow color option to both the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and this has been backed up by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman today. Apple offered both the iPhone XR and iPhone 11 in yellow, and yellow is the perfect color to celebrate the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere. If Apple were to announce this new color option, it would likely be announced via a press release as we haven’t seen any media invites for an upcoming media event.

On the other hand, we haven’t heard anything about the iPhone 14 Pro. The first time that Apple offered an additional “spring” color for the Pro lineup was with the iPhone 13 Pro in Alpine Green. If Apple were to offer a more subtle shade of yellow as opposed to the vibrant shade for the standard iPhone 14, I bet that shade would be too similar to the existing Gold option. It would be a disappointment if the iPhone 14 Pro will not have an additional color, but we just have to wait and see.

This marketing strategy has helped Apple boost sales for its most profitable product, especially when sales of the latest iPhone are slowing down midway through its yearly product cycle. Plus, offering an additional color will let onlookers know that you got the newest style along with the seasonal iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands. We could even see a refreshed lineup of those accessories along with that announcement as it has recently been rumored that Apple will offer Deep Purple and Golden Brown for its iPhone MagSafe Leather cases.
