Introduced on the Apple Watch Ultra and as an extension of the Optimized Battery Charging feature, the Optimized Charge Limit uses on-device machine learning to analyze your daily usage and predict how much battery life you’re likely to need for that day by charging up to a certain percentage.

This will further expand the lifespan of your Apple Watch’s battery as overcharging has been a major cause of battery degradation, especially on a small device. While this is on by default, you may manually override the Optimized Charge Limit and charge the watch to 100% whenever you’re planning on a long trip the following day.

Now, watchOS 10 is bringing this feature to even more Apple Watch models introduced in 2020 or later, including both generations of the Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 6 or later models. This feature is also available as a developer beta for developers and users to try this feature.

watchOS 10 will be publicly released in September when Apple introduced the next-generation Apple Watch models. They will undoubtedly support the Optimized Battery Charging feature along with other new health features.
