For the first time ever, CBS will be broadcasting its first-ever NFL game in 4K, and what better way than with arguably the biggest sporting event in the country, the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl this year is between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be played at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, and broadcast on CBS.
With that said, streaming the game in 4K will not be as easy as some may like, but the option will still be out there for some users.
Right now, those that have live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV, fuboTV and DirecTV Stream will be able to stream the game in 4K through the CBS 4K channels.
For YouTube TV subscribers, they will only be able to stream the game in 4K if they also have the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 a month to their monthly bill. The other live TV streaming services mentioned above have it as part of their services to their users.
According to TVAnswerman.com, “the 4K feed will be upscaled from a 1080p HD broadcast.”
It should also be stated that Paramount+ will NOT have a 4K stream of the Super Bowl this year. Instead, users will be able to stream the game through it in 1080p HDR. Users will not be able to stream it in 4K in the CBS app either.
All of the streaming services listed above are available to stream on the Apple TV 4K. If you are looking to find out how to stream the game normally, please visit our article on how to do that.
