According to recent reports from MacRumors, some users of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 are experiencing a peculiar issue known as “ghost touches,” where the device registers screen inputs that the user did not make. This phenomenon has prompted Apple to advise technicians not to attempt repairs on the affected models while the company investigates the problem further. For those encountering this issue, a temporary solution has been suggested: force restarting the Apple Watch by holding down the Digital Crown and the side button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. This issue has come to light shortly after the release of these models in September 2023, adding to the challenges faced by Apple’s latest wearable devices.

“Ghost touches” are not the only problem plaguing the new Apple Watch models. Users have also reported display flickering, particularly in Always-On mode, which Apple is addressing through software updates, indicating that the issue may not be hardware-related. These issues highlight the importance of software stability and quality control in modern wearable technology, where even minor glitches can significantly impact user experience.
