When Apple launched the Vision Pro on February 2, the company announced that there were over 600 news apps designed and optimized specifically for Vision Pro. Now, almost two weeks later, that number has grown substantially as Greg Joswiak, Apple’s marketing chief, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that there are now at least 1,000 apps available for Vision Pro. In addition to that, Vision Pro can also run more than 1.5 million existing iPad apps that the App Store has to offer.
A huge thank you to our developers! Their hard work has already resulted in over 1,000 incredible spatial apps designed specifically for Vision Pro, along with over 1.5 million compatible apps. We're thrilled to see how they'll continue to push the boundaries for what’s possible.

Back when Apple launched the original iPad in April 2010, there were a lot fewer apps that were well-optimized for the larger screen, yet it was still able to run existing iPhone apps until those apps were eventually redesigned/reoptimized specifically for iPad. Now that the App Store has even more iPad apps than before, we’ll likely see even more Vision Pro apps in the future as Apple also announced that more Apple Arcade games are coming to the Vision Pro today.
What’s next for Vision Pro is certainly going to be the next version of visionOS – the spatial operating system that runs on Vision Pro. We expect visionOS 2 to be introduced at this year’s WWDC.
