Apple is now making the 24-inch colorful iMac models available at its Certified Refurbished Store in the U.S. That machine was updated last October with the next-generation M3 chip. It was announced alongside the MacBook Pros with the M3 series of chips. The iMac was overdue for an upgrade as that machine’s design was introduced in April 2021 as part of Apple’s transition to Apple Silicon for its Macs.

It was a welcome upgrade overall with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing and faster performance thanks to the M3 chip, Bluetooth 5.3 support, and support for high-impedance headphones. However, it still came bundled with the Lightning-based color-matching Magic Accessories.

If you go to the Certified Refurbished Store, you’ll see around 15% discounts on those refurbished models starting at $1,099. The MSRP for those machines when buying new ones is $1,299. Currently, only the standard configurations are offered, so if you’re hoping to buy a custom configuration such as one with 16GB of unified memory, tough luck. If you don’t mind the standard configurations, you’d be better off saving more at other Apple resellers such as Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H Photo. Otherwise, there’s no better way to save on custom configurations than on Apple’s Certified Refurbished Store.

Refurbished Apple products are thoroughly tested to provide the same quality as new Apple products. You’ll also get many of the same benefits such as the 14-day return period, limited one-year warranty, and option to buy AppleCare+. All refurbished devices include all the accessories and manuals that are repackaged in a white box.
