watchOS 11 has officially been introduced, and Apple has listed all the Apple Watch models that will support this upcoming release.

- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch Series 7
- Apple Watch Series 8
- Apple Watch Series 9
- Apple Watch Ultra
- Apple Watch Ultra 2
In summary, watchOS 11 will support all Apple Watch models introduced in 2020 and later, excluding the original Apple Watch SE since that model featured the same system-in-package as on the Series 5. Furthermore, watchOS 11 will drop support for both the Apple Watch Series 4 and Series 5 as both of those models feature the same chip albeit differently branded system-in-packages. The key additional features that Series 5 offered were the always-on display, increased storage, and compass.
watchOS 11 is now available to developers starting today, followed by a public beta sometime next month. watchOS 11 will be released to the public this fall. An iPhone model running iOS 18 will be required to use watchOS 11 on a paired Apple Watch.
