The prices of iPhones have been nearly the same in the U.S. for these years considering all of these improvements. However, there’s one thing that is getting a price jump. As reported by MacRumors, out-of-warranty battery replacements for the iPhone 16 Pro series is getting more expensive, now costing $119, up from $99 on the iPhone 15 Pro series. This marks a 20% increase in repair costs, and could be a result of larger batteries and improved design.
Customers can opt for AppleCare+ if they want their battery replacement to be done free of cost when the Battery Health goes below 80%. Out-of-Warranty Battery replacement costs for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus remain the same, which is $99.
This is not the first time that Apple has increased repair costs in the last few years. Battery replacement costs for all four iPhone 14 models used to initially be $69, but it saw an increase of more than 40% to $99.
The new Pro models will be available in four elegant finishes ”“ Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Black Titanium finishes. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 for the 128GB variant, $1,099 for the 256GB variant, $1,299 for the 512GB variant, and $1,499 for the 1TB variant. The larger Pro Max starts at $1,199 for the 256GB variant, $1,399 for the 512GB variant, and $1,599 for the 1TB variant. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available starting September 20th.
