After several weeks of anticipation, we’ve finally got official confirmation, or rather a very subtle hint from Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, that Apple will finally launch the next generation of Macs with M4 series chips.
Mac (😉) your calendars! We have an exciting week of announcements ahead, starting on Monday morning. Stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/YnoCYkZq6c

If you look at Joswiak’s post on X, you’ll see a very cool animation of the Finder icon, similar to last October’s invite for Apple’s “Scary Fast” event. But this time, the Finder icon glows with several bright, vivid colors. Those colors happen to be the same colors for the new Siri in Apple Intelligence, which signifies both the launch of Apple Intelligence and Apple will continue to promote the latest features when it announces the upcoming M4-based Macs.
Looking closely at the post when it says “an exciting week of announcements, starting Monday morning,” we may see several new products debuting over the next week. In other words, we may see something like what Apple did back in March 2019. Back then, Apple announced the following products within three days:
- March 18 – iPad Air (3rd generation) and iPad mini (5th generation), both with A12 chip
- March 19 – 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs with 8th- and 9th-generation Intel processors, respectively
- March 20 – AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with the H1 chip
Therefore, we may see something a similar rollout for the first Macs with the M4 chips. Here are my predictions on when Apple may announce the following products:
- October 28 – 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4/M4 Pro/M4 Max and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro/M4 Max. (Don’t expect a major redesign.)
- October 29 – 24-inch iMac with M4 in the same design and colors, along with the updated Magic accessories with USB-C
- October 30 – The star of the show will be the Mac mini with M4/M4 Pro, which is expected to have the biggest redesign in over 14 years and will be significantly smaller, perhaps as small as an Apple TV.
Needless to say, the next week is going to be jam-packed with several announcements for Apple fans and followers, so make sure you follow us on X to get the latest news for the next generation of Macs.
