Today, Apple added both the Apple Watch Series 3 and the iPhone 11 Pro Max to its “Vintage” list of products. Interestingly, Apple hasn’t added the smaller iPhone 11 Pro to that list yet, which suggests that Apple continued to distribute that smartphone to third-party vendors for a bit longer.
The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max were introduced in September 2019, and they were the first highest-end smartphones that Apple officially dubbed them as “Pro” iPhone models, which marked the debut of the “iconic” triple Pro camera system on the back side. Both iPhone 11 Pro models were officially discontinued by Apple in October 2020 following the announcement of the iPhone 12 lineup. In fact, the iPhone 11 Pro was one of the earliest iPhone models that are supported by the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 26.
The Apple Watch Series 3 was introduced in September 2017, and it introduced cellular connectivity on an Apple Watch for the first time. When Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 4 the following year, Apple continued to sell the Series 3 as the more-budget alternative all the way up to September 2022 when Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 8, the Apple Watch SE 2, and the very-first Apple Watch Ultra. Around that time, Apple publicly released watchOS 9, which dropped support for the Apple Watch Series 3, which marked the end of an era of the original Apple Watch design.
Apple products are classified as “Vintage” when more than five years have elapsed since they were last distributed for sale. You could request parts for repair, but there’s no 100% guarantee.
