[Black Friday Deal] M1 MacBook Air gets an even bigger discount at Walmart

Do you know that you can still buy the M1 MacBook Air? In case you did not know, when Apple introduced the M3 MacBook Air models back in March 2024, Apple quietly stopped distributing the M1 MacBook Air on its online store and at its retail stores, but shortly after, Walmart agreed with Apple to continue selling the M1 MacBook Air for $699 in March 2024. Eventually, the starting price dropped to $649, then to $599, and now, as part of the Black Friday sales, Walmart is offering this laptop at just $549; this is such a killer value for a full-fledged Mac computer that’s well-suited for everyday tasks.

Apple introduced the M1 MacBook Air in November 2020, which initially started at $999, as one of the very first Macs with Apple Silicon, and it proved to bring such incredible value that it combined performance and efficiency. A remarkable feature was that the M1 MacBook Air had a fanless design that allowed for silent operations. As the years go by, Apple continued that trend to push both areas in future iterations of the MacBook Air. This M1 MacBook Air does have a dated design compared to today’s MacBook models; nevertheless, if you’re on a budget, or you’re buying a computer for your kids, grandparents, or any who does basic tasks such as web-browsing or email, this MacBook Air at $549 is a no-brainer deal, and for that price, you’ll be getting 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, and even better, Walmart offers this M1 MacBook Air as new. Note that you can choose either the Silver or Space Gray as the Gold seems to be sold out.

It’s worth noting that next year’s macOS 27 release will drop support for Intel Macs, so getting it is not a bad idea to upgrade to the M1 MacBook Air if you don’t care about the fancier features found in today’s MacBook lineup, as the M1 MacBook Air brings the core Mac experience and Apple Silicon technology at a fraction of the price.
