To bring you up to speed, Apple has invited selected media outlets and content creators for an upcoming “special Apple Experience” that is set to take place in New York, London, and Shanghai on March 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Those who have spotted the emblematic graphic used on Apple’s latest invite may be quick to notice a huge hint on what Apple may announce that week. If you take a look at the invite, you’ll see a stack of yellow, green, and blue transparent discs that resemble the Apple logo. As you may know, Apple’s upcoming entry-level MacBook has long been rumored to come in multiple, vibrant colors, and a recent report from a leaker known as “Instant Digital” suggested that those may be the colors for the upcoming MacBook.
Come to think of it, it’s all coming together. If we take a look at Apple’s graphics for its previous media invites, they often reveal subtle hints at what Apple would announce at those events. Here are a few examples.
The colors used on the logo graphic in the invite for Apple’s September 2019 event would largely match those of the regular iPhone 11.
For the invite for Apple’s April 2021 event, the colors and style of the logo graphic would largely resemble Apple’s signature ‘hello’ emblem to promote its redesigned 24-inch iMac, which also comes in multiple colors similar to those used on the invite’s graphic.
The logo graphic depicting metallic shades of both blue and gray hinted at the iPhone 15 Pro’s titanium frame, and Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium were just two of the finishes that the iPhone 15 Pro offered.
Last July, reputably analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that this “budget” MacBook could come in colors that match those of the base iPad; however, earlier this week, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg stated that Apple tested several colors for this MacBook, including light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray, but he also mentioned that some of the colors would not make it in the final production stage.
The last time we saw actual colors (specifically not white, black, or any shade of gray in between) on a laptop from Apple was with the iBook G3 “Clamshell”, which made its debut in July 1999, and it came in Tangerine, Blueberry, Graphite, Indigo, and Key Lime throughout its lifespan. Since that iBook, laptops from Apple have come in rather muted colors, so bringing back fun colors for this upcoming MacBook will certainly attract even more customers and bring even more personality. Just as today’s 24-inch iMac pays homage to the original iMac’s design by offering a plethora of colors, the upcoming MacBook will certainly pay homage to the original iBook. I’m personally excited about what Apple will bring to the table with this upcoming MacBook, and you should read here on why this MacBook would be a great idea for both Apple and its customers.
