Today, Apple rolled out several software updates, including iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, macOS Tahoe 26.4, watchOS 26.4, visionOS 26.4, tvOS 26.4, and more. Along with them, Apple also rolled out updates for older devices.

Starting off with the iPhone and iPad, Apple has released iOS 18.7.7 and iPadOS 18.7.7 for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and iPad 7th generation with fixes for 25 security issues, including WebKit, Kernel, ImageIO, iCloud, and more.

Current and Upcoming updates to iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are now expected to only include refinements and security patches, as the company has already released iOS/iPadOS 26 back in September.

Along with macOS Tahoe 26.4, Apple also released macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 for Macs running these versions. macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 has fixes for 56 security issues, while macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 has fixes for 50 security issues.

Moving on, Apple has surprisingly released two watchOS updates for older Apple Watch models:

  • watchOS 8.8.2 for the Apple Watch Series 3, Series 4, Series 5, Series 6, Series 7, and SE
  • watchOS 5.3.10 for the Apple Watch Series 1, Series 2, Series 3, and Series 4

These updates do not seem to have any security fixes, as Apple’s security webpage does not have any published CVE entries for them.

It’s possible that they come with a certificate extension for iMessage and FaceTime, similar to iOS 12.5.8, which was released two months ago.

Some of the oldest supported devices are the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, which were launched simultaneously along with the iPhone 7 series in 2016. It is simply amazing to see them provide updates to date for devices that are almost 10 years old, making Apple a clear winner in terms of Security & Software updates.

It is highly recommended to update your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to the latest software for the best experience and security. Did you find any features in these updates?
