Yesterday, Philo added the TV One channel to its lineup. With this addition, the live TV streaming service increases its number of channels to 61 channels.
This is the first live TV streaming service to carry the network.
Philo CEO Andrew McCollum said in a statement:
“Adding more diverse programming aligns with our continued commitment to our community,” he said. “The addition of TV One is the result of our appreciation for the importance of black-owned channels and content perspectives to our overall business objectives, which in turn, create opportunities for diverse creators.”
Michelle Rice, the general manager of both TV One and CLEO TV, called Philo a “great partner.”
The channel is expected to go live on the service within the next few weeks.
Philo also recently added INSP and getTV to its service as well this year.
Most importantly, those channels and the addition of TV One are not coming with a price increase, like we have seen from other live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV and fuboTV this summer.
Philo costs $20 a month and is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
