Apple yesterday announced its September event scheduled for September 15, 2020. Alongside sending out the invites to the press, Apple also put up a YouTube livestream placeholder for the event.
Analysis of the metadata for the livestream indicates “Series 6”, an Apple Watch version which has not yet been announced by Apple. This was spotted by Guilherme Rambo and shared on Twitter.
While this metadata screenshot also indicates other unrelated mentions like “WWDC” and “Series 5”, the specific mention of Series 6 seemingly confirms its existence.
Mark Gurman with Bloomberg has claimed that the following event will be an Apple Watch and iPad exclusive event with an iPhone only event likely scheduled for October. This is different from the usual Apple schedule which focuses on announcing iPhones and Apple Watches together.
This specific mention applauds the track record of Bloomberg but at the same time should not be seen as concrete evidence for the iPhone event being held in October.
These specific keywords are targeted by Apple in order to attract consumers searching for any of these products. It is tough to evaluate which products apart from the Apple Watch will make a debut on Apple’s Keynote since other mentions either generic or related to products that have been already announced.
