The free live TV streaming service non-profit Locast has launched in its 29th market in the U.S., which is Sacramento, California.
It comes at a great time for residents in the Sacramento TV market since they will be able to not only get local and national news coverage, but also be able to watch the Super Bowl this weekend from the service.
The channels that will be included for the market on Locast will be KCRA NBC 3, KTXL FOX 40, KXTV ABC 10, KOVR CBS 13, Univision, PBS and PBS Kids, as well as Azteca America, CourtTV, Mystery, MeTV, TrueCrime, QUBO, Telemundo, Circle, The CW, BOUNCE, Movies!, LAFF, COMET, MyNetworkTV, ION, GRIT, Charge!, and others.
It is available to customers in the following counties: Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sierra, Solano East, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba.
After using the service for 15 minutes, it will give users its own ad to promote them to spend as little $5 a month to contribute to Locast. In order to avoid getting the ad every 15 minutes from Locast, they will have to donate monthly to the service.
Locast is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
