The next iPhone SE will have 5G connectivity, and a potential 2023 version could have a new hole-punch display.
According to Display analyst Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants, the 2022 iPhone SE will keep the same design as the current one but will add 5G capability.
But there is more! Young is saying that the 2023 iPhone SE will have a big design change, he is saying that the product will have a hole-punch display, which we have not seen on any iPhone ”” Including the latest iPhone 12 and 12 Pro ””.
Apple LCD iPhone leak, we now hear the next LCD iPhone SE will remain at 4.7" in 2022. Some rumors that it may have 5G with Sub-6 GHz as well. Also hearing about a 6.1" version in 2023 with punch hole rather than a notch.

Young is stating on Twitter that the Touch ID design with big bezels with remain on the 2022 iPhone SE, while the 2023 version will sport a 6.1” hole-punch display.
This report comes after another report by Ming-Chi Kuo last month where he stated that the next iPhone SE will debut in 2022 and will have 5G capability.
If the 2023 iPhone SE comes with a hole-punch display, it is possible that flagship iPhones will have the same design too. Kuo has said in the past that the iPhone 14 lineup could drop the notch design and sport a hole-punch design.
If the 2023 iPhone SE sports a hole-punch display, this would be the biggest design upgrade for the iPhone SE lineup, making the SE catch up with budget phones will all-screen displays and not an old iPhone 8 design.
