TSMC has started producing the upcoming iPhone 13’s chip according to a new report.

iPhone 13 will debut this September and will traditionally feature a faster processor to power the device. And according to Digitimes, Apple’s partner TSMC has started “initial production” of Apple’s A15 chip.

Digitimes said that Apple’s A15 chip will have greater speed than the current A14 Bionic on iPhone 12:

“TSMC has kicked off production for Apple’s next-generation iPhone processor dubbed A15, and will see demand for the chip surpass that for its predecessor last year in scale, according to industry sources.”

Last year the iPhone 12’s production schedule was delayed from September to October due to the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic which had hit the iPhone production with factories closing.

Digitimes does not have a good track of reliable Apple news, but when it comes to product productions, the news publisher has strong sources to back the news, such as the iPhone 12 delay.

Apple’s next iPhone 13 series will feature a smaller notch, ProMotion Display, and better cameras with improved low-light.
