After severe backlash with its Apple TV+ exclusivity, it does once again appear that Charlie Brown will be back on TV screens for the entire country to see at no additional cost.

It has been discovered that Apple is allowing PBS to air “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

This was found by Twitter user @ItsPeebs, which shows what looks like a promotional image of Halloween-related programming it will be airing on Sunday, October 24, which is a week before Halloween itself.

According to the promo image, “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be airing on PBS and PBS Kids as part of its 2021 Family Night at 7:30 p.m. ET. However, it does also state to check your local listings just in case a local PBS station decides to air it at a different time or date.

Last year, both the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas specials did air on PBS and PBS Kids exclusively, which was a big deal at the time since both specials had previously aired on ABC for over a decade.

At this time, Apple has not announced if the Charlie Brown Halloween special will be available to stream free for a few days on the Apple TV app before Halloween.

For those looking to stream the special live on October 24, the best way to do so, now that Locast is no longer an option, would be either through YouTube TV or through the PBS app. The PBS app does allow for users to stream their local PBS station at no added cost to the user.

Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 a month and can be streamed through the Apple TV app on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select Smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, XBOX One, XBOX Series X&S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
