The final month of the year has arrived, but the good news is that it is also supposed to be the best time of the year too. Additionally, there is still plenty of content to stream too.
TV:
- “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (Season 15): The record-breaking 15th season of the series will air at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 1, on FXX. It will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
- “Letterkenny” (Season 10): The 10th season of this hit Hulu Original will be available on Hulu on Sunday, December 26.
- “Cobra Kai” (Season 4): It’s one of Netflix’s top original TV shows and its newest season will premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 31.
- “The Book of Boba Fett”: Another new “Star Wars” TV series is coming to Disney+ on Wednesday, December 29.
- “RENO 911: The Hunt for QANON”: Yet another TV series in Hollywood has been revived and this special will air on Thursday, December 23, exclusively on Paramount+. Five seasons of the show are on that streaming service and all six seasons are on HBO Max.
Movies:
- “Harry Potter” movie trilogy: Since December does tend to bring the snow and that Christmas is in December, those looking for some of that “Christmas magic” can look into streaming the whole “Harry Potter” movie series on HBO Max.
- “Die Hard”: It’s not technically a Christmas movie, but we are still recommending streaming it this month. It is currently available to stream on The Roku Channel and IMDb TV.
- “Frozen”: If the cold never bothered you, then you should be streaming this movie this month too. Both it and its sequel, “Frozen II,” can be streamed on Disney+.
- “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”: This is one of the few movies that goes through all seasons of the year, but truly showcases the beauty of the fall and spring, and has holiday scenes too. It can currently be streamed through Showtime.
- “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”: There’s snow in this movie and could make for a good watch this time of the year. It is currently available to stream on Disney+.
Christmas movies and specials: We will be providing 15 movies and specials to watch this holiday season.
- “Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas”: If you were a fan of the former NBC hit TV series “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” then you might like the new Christmas special that will be coming to The Roku Channel on Wednesday, December 1.
- “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966): You can stream this classic animated Christmas special on Peacock with Peacock Premium. It is not available on the free version of Peacock Premium at this time.
- “A Charlie Brown Christmas”: This iconic Christmas special can be streamed on-demand for Apple TV+ subscribers through the Apple TV app. The special will be broadcast on PBS in December that will be accessible to stream through the PBS app for free. Click here to find out when that date will be.
- “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: The only way to stream this one will be by purchasing it through iTunes/Apple TV app for $9.99.
- “Jingle All The Way”: It’s a movie that has been watched for holiday seasons for over a decade and can currently be streamed through both Disney+ and Hulu.
- “Elf”: People after all these years still love the innocence and antics of Buddy the Elf. Thankfully for them, this Christmas movie is on HBO Max and Starz right now.
- “The Polar Express”: The movie that features voices like Tom Hanks and Daryl Sabara is currently available to stream on HBO Max and AMC+.
- “Christmas with the Kranks”: Tim Allen truly is the king of Christmas when it comes to actors and his non-“Santa Claus” movie is available to stream on Starz.
- “The Santa Claus” movies: All three of Tim Allen’s “Santa Claus” movies can be streamed on Disney+.
- “Dash & Lily”: We’re recommending this one because of the great story, it’s Christmas-related and the fantastic cast too. It is available to stream on Netflix.
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”: The classic movie starring Chevy Chase can be streamed on HBO Max.
- “A Christmas Story”: If you’re willing to wait for the marathon TBS will be showing on Christmas Day this year, HBO Max will be the place to go to stream this Christmas movie.
- “A Walton’s Homecoming” (2021): A remake of the iconic “Walton’s Homecoming” movie is now available to stream on The CW app.
- Hallmark Christmas movies: This one had to make the list at some point, am I right? They are available to stream live and on-demand through Frndly TV, and on-demand for select Hallmark Christmas movies on Hallmark Movies Now.
- “Home Alone” movies: The Macaulay Culkin movies and the third movie starring Alex Pruitt are available to stream on Disney+. The 2021 “Home Sweet Home Alone” is a Disney+ Original that can also be streamed on it too.
New Year’s specials:
- “Doctor Who: The Movie” (1996): This was the “Doctor Who” New Year’s special before the 13th Doctor started doing them in 2019. It is available to stream on Britbox.
- “New Year’s Eve”: This movie is all about the lives of several relationships on the night of New Year’s Eve and is currently on Prime Video.
Sports:
- Big 12 Championship (College Football): The two best teams in the Big 12, #9 Baylor vs. #5 Oklahoma State, will go at it one final time to see who the best team in the conference is. It will air at 12 p.m. ET, Saturday, December 4, on ABC.
- SEC Championship (College Football): #1 Georgia and #3 Alabama will go at it with this top-five matchup. It’ll be very much like a National Championship-like game. It will air at 4 p.m. ET, Saturday, December 4, on CBS and Paramount+.
- College football bowl games: While the official schedule has not been released yet, as not all of the regular season games have been played, we encourage you to stream these games live this bowl season.
- Indianapolis Colts vs. Arizona Cardinals (NFL): This game is set to be a primetime matchup on Christmas night. Both teams are both currently fighting to get their way into the NFL Playoffs this year. The game will air at 8:15 p.m. ET, Saturday, December 25, on NFL Network.
- NBA Christmas Day games: Every year, the NBA has several games to watch on Christmas Day and this year is no different. The games start at noon ET, December 25, and the games will be on ABC and ESPN networks.
