Apple has updated its Wallet page on its website to show that on top of drivers licenses and state IDs being added to the Wallet app in early 2022, so will employee work IDs.

The example shown by Apple on its website is Silverstein Properties’ employee IDs that will enable employees to get into the building, as well as other rooms and places at its facilities.

In order to do this with an iPhone, the employee would have to put their iPhone near the sensor at the door and verify with either Face ID or Touch ID to get into a building or room.

On the Apple Watch, the employee would have to hit the button on the right side of their Apple Watch, present the digital employee ID at the sensor, where it would be able to recognize and verify them, and let them in.

Apple also allows for users to put their credit and debit cards in the Wallet app as part of Apple Pay, along with college student IDs, airplane tickets, boarding and theme park passes, movie and concert tickets, and hotel, car and house keys.

What are your thoughts on being able to get into your workplace by allowing employee IDs into the Apple Wallet app? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
