Apple announced the third generation of its SE lineup on March 8 at the “Peek Performance” event. It is the cheapest iPhone in Apple’s portfolio and comes with a price tag of $429. It packs excellent features and performance in an iconic iPhone 8 design. The new SE packs 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB.

While Apple usually doesn’t advertise the RAM capacity on its iPhones, a new benchmark report from Geekbench suggests that the SE 3rd generation now comes with 4GB of RAM. An increase in RAM capacity would enable the users to keep more active apps in the background.

The new SE is codenamed as iPhone 14,6 by Geekbench. The single-core and multi-core scores also give us the idea that the performance is at par with the iPhone 13. For reference, the iPhone 13 mini has a single-core score of 1686 and a multi-core score of 4489.

Apple has started taking pre-orders for the new iPhone SE since 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, March 11. It can be pre-ordered in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, and more than 30 other countries and regions. The deliveries and in-store purchase/pickup will begin from March 18.
