Last month, we’ve seen a price hike for the Apple Music student plan across the rest of the world, including South Africa, India, and New Zealand. Now, it has been confirmed that the US, Canada, and the UK have followed suit.

Previously, the student plan was at $4.99/month in the U.S., but now, the price has been increased to $5.99/month. This 1 unit of currency increase similarly happened in the UK (from £4.99 to £5.99/month).

The pricing for the rest of the Apple Music plans have remained the same – $9.99/mo. for the individual plan, $14.99/mo. for the family plan, and $4.99/mo. for the newest Voice Plan. Do note that the Voice Plan only works through Siri on Apple device, while the other plans gave you full access to the entire music category.

While you would have to pay $1 more for the student plan, do note that Apple TV+ is included with the plan. Therefore, along with the full music catalog access, this might still be a better buy if you’re a student. Just know that you’d have to go through the UNiDAYS program for verification.

This year has seen several price hikes across subscription-based services, most notably, Netflix. Apple Music is available with a 1-month free trial for new users. Additionally, you’ll get six months of free Apple Music is you purchased either a HomePod mini or AirPods.
