While its good to see Apple TV+ gaining more subscribers, it should be mentioned that Peacock (owned by NBCUniversal). Did not make the list, which could indicate that despite getting streaming rights to popular live sporting events like MLB Sunday Morning Baseball, IndyCar, Notre Dame Football on NBC, and NFL Sunday Night Football, the streaming service still has not seen a lot of growth within the streaming market.
When it comes to Apple TV+, its had a great past year with its original film “CODA” winning an Academy Award in 2022 for Best Picture and the hit TV series Ted Lasso has won multiple Critics Choice awards.
Apple does appear to potentially have another Wonka Ticket of content in another TV series “Severence” starring Adam Scott. The actor did win Best Actor from the Webby awards and the series has been nominated for multiple Television Critics Association Awards including “Program of the Year.”
Along with the addition of MLB Friday Night Baseball, it has been rumored Apple TV+ could be the new home of the NFL Sunday Ticket, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
Apple TV+ currently costs $4.99 a month and is available to stream through the Apple TV app.
