It has been rumored that Apple will hold a final Apple event for this year in October next month. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company would announce the final products for 2022, which are Mac and iPad devices in press releases instead of a streamable keynote.

In his latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Gurman reports the Cupertino-based giant is considering replacing the October event with less intensive press releases due to the small number of new devices coming later this year:

“Apple may ultimately end up feeling differently, but I think the company (as of now) is more likely to release its remaining 2022 products via press releases, updates to its website and briefings with select members of the press””rather than via a major iPhone-style keynote.”

Apple has been constantly holding events every September since 2012 however when it comes to October events, the possibilities are less than expected. The company constantly held an October event for several years until 2015. It seems now that there will not be a final keynote for this year.

Products the company is likely to announce next month include the next generation Mac and iPad lineups ”“ new iPad Pros, iPad 10, and the introduction of faster M2 chips to MacBook Pros.

  • M2 and M2 Pro Mac minis
  • M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pros
  • M2-powered iPad Pros
  • Redesigned iPad 10th-generation

Gurman notes another product announcement will be in form of an upgraded Apple TV streaming box with an A14 chip and sports more RAM. While the Apple silicon-powered Mac Pro desktop machine “will be released until 2023.” The next versions of macOS and iPadOS ”“ Ventura and iPadOS 16 are also likely to be released next month.
