It was announced today that the price of Paramount+ is going to be increased later this year.

As it stands right now, the “Essential” ad-supported Paramount+ plan is $4.99 a month and the ad-free “Premium” plan is $9.99 a month.

Prices for Paramount+ are expected to be increased by Q3 2023, with the ad-supported plan going to $5.99 a month and the ad-free plan going to $11.99 a month. Additionally, once the merge of Paramount+ and Showtime happens, it will be rebranded as “Paramount+ with Showtime.”

However, it is expected that the price increase for the ad-supported plan will not see Showtime content be added to it and that it is being done in the name of “value,” according The Streamable.

With that said, Showtime is $14.99 a month on its own and ad-free Paramount+ is currently $9.99 a month, so with those combined at just $11.99 a month is not too bad of deal with all things considered.

Subscribers with the ad-free plan will still have access to streaming their live local CBS station, exclusive soccer matches, as well as ad-free content on the streaming service itself.

To make matters a little more interesting, those that were already subscribed to Paramount+ that was bundled with Showtime and integrated into the Paramount+ service will actually see a price decrease from $14.99 a month to $11.99 a month, which starts today.

Paramount has already sent out emails to subscribers on that plan to let them know about that news regarding their subscription.

It is currently unknown if the Showtime content will be added to the version of Paramount+ on Apple TV Channels that is priced at $9.99 a month through the Apple TV app.
