Apple Pay Later has been available to users for a short time. However, one of America’s major tech retailers no longer seems to be supporting it.
Best Buy is no longer accepting Apple Pay Later in its app. When making a purchasing through the app, you can still make a purchase with Apple Pay normally or with Apple Card, but when trying to use Apple Pay Later, you are prompted with “Not available for this merchant.”
Previously, Best Buy had been accepting Apple Pay Later and Knoji does state that the company was at one point accepting Apple Pay Later. The source says it “researched this” on July 31, 2023, so that could have been when it was in testing to the select number of people who had access to it at the time.
Proof of this can be seen in the photo below that was screenshot on September 23, 2023.
For those that do not know, Apple Pay Later is Apple’s version of a “buy now, pay later” type of service within Apple Pay. Users can make purchases from their iPhone or iPad with Apple Pay and then have the choice of using Apple Pay Later, which would be interest-free payments for up to six weeks and all managed and done through the Wallet app.
Other popular shopping apps such as Target and Etsy, as well as plenty of others, do accept Apple Pay Later as this is being written.
