Yesterday, we reported five new iPhone identifiers that likely refer to the upcoming iPhone 16 models as each of them is now expected to feature the A18 chip. Now, Nicolás Álvarez discovered even more references to Apple’s upcoming iPad models.

Early this year, Apple announced both the iPad Air with the M2 chip and the iPad Pro with the M4 chip. This leaves just the lower-end iPad models to receive an update. The following identifiers are listed in the backend code with the likely candidates:

  • iPad15,7 – iPad (11th generation, Wi-Fi) with A16 chip
  • iPad15,8 – iPad (11th generation, Wi-Fi + Cellular) with A16 chip
  • iPad16,1 – iPad mini (7th generation, Wi-Fi) with A17 chip
  • iPad16,2 – iPad mini (7th generation, Wi-Fi + Cellular) with A17 chip
  • iPad17,1 – iPad Pro 11-inch (M5, Wi-Fi)
  • iPad17,2 – iPad Pro 11-inch (M5, Wi-Fi + Cellular)
  • iPad17,3 – iPad Pro 13-inch (M5, Wi-Fi)
  • iPad17,4 – iPad Pro 13-inch (M5, Wi-Fi + Cellular)

Given that the iPad Pro models were recently updated, we won’t see another refresh until no earlier than late 2025 since Apple tends to update the iPad Pro models around 1.5 years on average.

Currently, the base iPad and iPad mini have the following identifiers for comparison:

  • iPad13,18 – iPad (10th generation, Wi-Fi) with A14 chip
  • iPad13,19 – iPad (10th generation, Wi-Fi + Cellular) with A14 chip
  • iPad14,1 – iPad mini (6th generation, Wi-Fi) with A15 chip
  • iPad14,2 – iPad mini (6th generation, Wi-Fi + Cellular) with A15 chip

Sometimes, Apple announced new iPad models in the fall timeframe, so we’ll likely see a new iPad and iPad mini alongside the introduction of the anticipated iPhone 16 lineup at the earliest.
