Apple TV 4K users can stream three college football games in 4K on October 19

Another weekend is upon us and that means for many Americans out there, it is time to watch some college football, as it is a yearly tradition on Saturdays in the fall.

This weekend, there are a few games to stream in 4K and here they are:

  • Nebraska vs. Indiana – 12 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Colorado vs. Arizona – 4 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Georgia vs. Texas – 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN 4K (HD simulcast on ABC and ESPN+)

When it comes to actually streaming those FOX Sports games live, fans will have to be subscribed to a live TV streaming service such as YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, or Sling TV (Sling Blue or Sling Orange + Blue plans only, FOX only available in select TV markets on Sling TV) which all will have a FOX 4K channel. Those that have YouTube TV will also need to have the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 a month.

Another way to stream the FOX Sports games in 4K, when available, whether it is on FOX or FS1, is through the FOX Sports app. Those that use that route will have to sign in with valid TV provider credentials in order to stream the games live and in 4K from that app.

For streaming the ESPN (in this case, the ABC) game in 4K, that is said to be through ESPN 4K channels provided by YouTube TV, Sling TV, and other live TV streaming services.

The FOX and ESPN broadcast games in 4K are reported to be “upscaled” from 1080p.

You will also need a compatible 4K streaming device like the Apple TV 4K in order to truly stream these games in 4K.
