Apple has rolled out iPadOS 18.0.1 for iPad mini (A17 Pro), which is launching tomorrow, October 23. The build number for iPadOS 18.0.1 is 22A8370 for other iPad models, whereas it’s 22A8380 for the new iPad mini. This means that the new iPad mini will have a day-one software update. iPadOS 18.0.1 is already available for other iPad models as it was released almost three weeks back.

According to Apple, it provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPad including:

  • Messages may unexpectedly quit when replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face
  • Performance may be impacted due to an issue with memory allocation on some iPad models.

The iPad mini (A17 Pro) may either ship with iPadOS 18.0 or another build of iPadOS 18.0.1, but you’ll be getting an update after you start using it.

A more interesting iPadOS 18.1 update is set to be released for the iPad next week with Apple Intelligence. Although the update will be available to all iPads supporting iPadOS 18, Apple Intelligence will only work on M-series iPads, and the newest iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip.

It is highly recommended to update your iPad to the latest software for the best experience. Did you find any new features with these updates?
