Puerto Rico residents can add their IDs to the Wallet app now

Throughout this year, we have seen the expansion of some states in the U.S. getting support for the Wallet app, meaning residents can add their drivers license or state ID to the Wallet app on their iPhone.

By doing this, it allows for a user to conveniently access their ID in a contactless method that will show their identity at select airports and businesses, as well as select apps.

We are now seeing that those in Puerto Rico now have the ability to add their IDs to the Wallet app as of this week. This was discovered by X (formerly Twitter) user @Jack1886.

There have been other states that have added support for IDs to be added to the Wallet app this fall that includes Iowa in October, and more recently, New Mexico this month.

These are the following airports where IDs from the Wallet app can be used at TSA checkpoints, according to MacRumors.

  • Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG)
  • John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC)
  • Los Angeles International (LAX)
  • Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL)
  • Des Moines International Airport (DSM)
  • Eastern Iowa Airport (CID)
  • Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ)
  • Lea County Regional Airport (HOB)
  • Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU)
