Apple quietly discontinues 30W Power Adapter

This past Tuesday, Apple introduced the AirPods Pro 3 and the all-new lineup of Apple Watch and iPhone models going into 2026. Since the iPhone 17 series now support faster 40W wired charging, Apple started offering its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. At the same time, however, Apple quietly discontinued its 30W Power Adapter that Apple started selling since 2018.

That power adapter, priced at $39 USD, came bundled in the 12-inch MacBook and the 13-inch MacBook Air back then, and it was also designed to fast-charge iPhone and iPad models. Although you can’t order that power adapter anymore, the base 13-inch MacBook Air (M4) as well as the Vision Pro still includes that accessory in the box, interestingly enough. It’s possible that Apple has had some leftover inventory that it wants to deplete by bundling them with some existing Apple products.

There are so many first-party USB-C power adapters that Apple offers today to power all categories of mobile devices. The current lineup consists of: 20W, dual-port 35W (in two variants), 70W, 96W, and 140W options. Apple stopped including power adapters for Apple Watch and iPhone models; however, Apple continues to bundle power adapters for iPad (except in European Union) and for MacBook models.
